Whispers in the White Wilderness: A Snow Leopard Expedition
13 Days of Unforgettable Wildlife & Culture
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to India – Where Every Journey Begins with a Story
Your snow-kissed adventure begins in India's vibrant capital. As your flight touches down in New Delhi, a warm smile and heartfelt greeting await you. Our personal representative will escort you to your hotel, a tranquil cocoon away from the city's buzz. The evening is yours: unwind, sip on saffron-infused chai, and let anticipation build under Delhi's starlit winter sky.
Day 2: Into the Foothills – From the City to Cedar-Laced Valleys
After a restful morning, you'll take a short flight to Chandigarh, where our mountain crew awaits. The road to Rampur winds through pine-fringed hills. We pause for a leisurely lunch at the charming Timber Trail in Parwanoo. As the sun softens, we arrive at Nau Nabh Heritage Hotel in Rampur, once a favored retreat of royals and poets.

Day 3: Ascending Into Silence – The Road to Tabo
At first light, we set off from Rampur for a full day's ascent. This is where the journey turns wild: winding roads, pine forests giving way to rocky ridges. Tabo, known as the Ajanta of the Himalayas, welcomes you by evening with its ancient monastery and a sky dusted with a thousand stars. Tonight, you'll stay at a cozy, clean local homestay.
Day 4: In the Realm of the Ghost Cat – Kibber & Snow Leopard Tracking
Your day begins with a quiet visit to the sacred Tabo Monastery. After breakfast, you drive deeper into the mountains toward Kibber, one of the highest inhabited villages on Earth. Over the next 6 days, you'll live as both explorer and guest—wrapped in the quiet rhythm of Kibber life. Mornings start with steaming tea and daily briefings with expert trackers before heading out into the wind-swept world of the Snow Leopard.
Day 5: Patience and Paw Prints
The search continues. Our expert spotters scan the ridges while you immerse yourself in the profound silence of the Himalayas. You might spot Blue Sheep, Ibex, or a Red Fox. Lunch is often served at the sighting site, a warm meal in the vast wilderness. Evenings are for stories and warmth back at the homestay.

Day 6: A Communion with the Wild
Each day is a meditation. Photography is made effortless with porters carrying your gear, and comfortable setups at viewing spots. This is more than a wildlife expedition—it's a communion with a rare, untamed world, supported by a team ensuring your comfort with oxygen tanks and health monitoring.
Day 7: The Rhythm of the Village
Today, you might take a short walk around Kibber village, interacting with the locals and understanding their way of life in this harsh, beautiful environment. The connection to the community is as profound as the connection to the wildlife.
Day 8: Eyes on the Horizon
Our trackers may lead us to a new location today, based on animal movements. The journey in our 4x4 Gypsys is an adventure in itself, crossing frozen streams and navigating snowy tracks in pursuit of the ghost cat.

Day 9: The Reward of Stillness
Whether a sighting occurs today or not, the experience is in the waiting, the watching, and the being present. The stark beauty of Spiti in winter, the crisp air, and the vast landscapes are a reward in themselves.
Day 10: Last Day in the Kingdom
Your final full day of tracking. One last chance to scan the mountains for that flick of a tail or a silhouette on a ridge. We soak in the final moments of this incredible high-altitude experience, cherishing the silence and the raw beauty.
Day 11: Descent Through Memory – From Kibber Back to Rampur
As dawn breaks, we bid farewell to Kibber. We begin the descent down winding Himalayan roads, each turn bringing back color and memories. By late evening, you return to the comforting elegance of Nau Nabh Heritage Hotel in Rampur for a nostalgic evening.
Day 12: The Long Goodbye – Through Valleys, Forests & Stories
We depart Rampur at first light, tracing our way back through the valleys. As we arrive in Chandigarh by evening, the city welcomes you gently back to civilization. Your hotel offers modern comforts, ideal for reminiscing over the journey.
